Competitive Dance at Studio West Dance Center for the Performing Arts

Become part of a larger growing national community of competitive dance right here in Ft Collins at SWDC.  It is an exciting time for competitive dance in this country.  SWDC has been actively competing with our ensemble/competition team regionally and nationally since 2006.  Our team ranges in age 5 to 18.  Ensemble dancers train in studio a minimum of six hours in all dance styles.

Below are some of the Conventions the SWDC Ensemble Team has attended, both locally and nationally:

Our dancers have amazing opportunities beyond the convention and competition stages that have included opening performers for Nelly at the Taste of Fort Collins, group performances for community fairs & festivals, and performances in local theatre (Carousel Dinner Theatre at Mid-Town Arts, Candelight Dinner Theatre, Bas Bleu Theatre and high school productions.)

Competitive dance is an incredible experience for the family as a whole; therefore, parental support is essential.  We strive to promote a strong sense of teamwork and sportsmanship.  We build self-confidence as our dancers work hard towards their personal goals, but equally important to our team goals.  Members must be good citizens to participate and team players at all times.
