Lisa Ruscitti has been devoted to dance since the age of three. Her training began at Gayton Dance Studio where she was educated in Tap, Jazz, Ballet, Hip-Hop, Contemporary, Modern, and Lyrical. She started competing in statewide competitions at a very young age. After 11 years of studio dancing, Lisa had the privilege of dancing on the Broomfield High School dance team for four years. She competed with her team nationwide and earned the 4A State Championship title in 2006, as well as being named UDA National Finalists in Orlando, Florida. Her passion has always been to perform in front of enormous crowds; the stage is like a second home to her.
Lisa has had the opportunity to train under the amazing choreography of Robin and Jody Gayton, Katrina Lairsmith, Chelsea Pierotti, and Jennifer Knostman. She has also had the opportunity to take classes at many conventions, most recently at “JUMP” and “Monsters of Hip-Hop”. The faculty at these conventions included Many Moore, Nick Lazzarini, Misha Gabriel, Doug Caldwell, Katy Spreadbury, Kevin Maher, Jamal Sims, Marty Kudelka, and Lisette Bustamante.
Lisa discovered her love for teaching during high school after choreographing pieces in the annual showcases. Lisa has been an instructor at Studio West Dance Center since 2008 and has enjoyed working with such dedicated and aspiring dancers. Aside from teaching, Lisa attends Colorado State University. In the spring of 2011, she will receive a Degree in Communication Studies with a Minor in Business Administration. Lisa is now venturing into her 18th year of dancing and is looking forward to continuing her journey as an avid dancer, choreographer, and instructor.
